Richard Yap

Richard Yap is currently the Chief Executive Officer at SCORE Statistical Consulting. Since joining SCORE in 2000, Richard has focused on developing generic and customized account management, collections, and dormant debt scorecards using credit bureau data in Canada and the United States. He has also developed and implemented various initiatives such as responder models, rule bases, credit bureau comparisons, and decision support systems for financial institutions, collection agencies, and debt purchasers/sellers, and insurance companies. Richard has also built predictive models that are used by Canada’s top insurance carriers in the property and casualty segment.

Richard has responsibility for the BPO vertical within SCORE, managing $2 billion in credit card receivables on behalf of clients, He also supports the brokerage of distressed receivables for Canadian Banks, with over $12 billion in charged off and insolvent debt sold to date.

Richard holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and is currently a board member of the Canadian Scoring and Risk Management Association (CSRSA). Early in his career Richard played various roles in health-related research programs and management in the education field.
