Stephen’s role as principal at SCORE is “to do whatever it takes”. He is a master of creative discourse to assess clients’ needs, and has the depth of experience to make recommendations on which solutions will best improve productivity.
Stephen’s vision for SCORE as a boutique firm is to offer solution-based answers utilizing models and analytics for accounts receivable management. His focus is entirely on the bottom line and what makes SCORE’s clients money by reducing their roll rates, write offs and surprise bankruptcies through preemptive collections and risk-based pricing.
It’s no wonder Stephen’s reputation as an expert has spread far and wide. His experience includes a deep understanding of the back end of collections during his 12-year tenure at Canadian Bonded Credit, where he grew the company through innovative marketing strategies and acquisitions, to be the largest privately held Collections Agency in Canada, writing over a billion dollars in business annually. Then moving to Equifax during an acquisition, Stephen managed accounts receivables and was exposed to the front-end adjudication process with its available decisioning solutions.
In 1992 with SCORE founder Kevin Leonard, Stephen took these modeling analytics to the back end, using models that were not yet available in the Canadian market. Since then, Stephen has been helping clients “fish where the fish are”.
Stephen has an MBA from Rutgers and a BA from the University of Notre Dame, so he is by no surprise a huge fan of the Fighting Irish.

Richard is the number cruncher at SCORE. His knack for numbers and passion for analytics enable him to create compelling business cases for our clients.
For Richard, success is measured by delivering on clients’ needs and what they want to accomplish. Once the goals are determined, he uses proprietary processes to build models and perform analyses.
Since joining SCORE in 2000, Richard has delivered value to our clients by thinking both logically and creatively. He believes a key to SCORE’s success is our customer-centric approach, and our culture to under-promise and over-deliver. SCORE builds models and remains engaged in the post-sales process by re-validating scores and developing strategies to further enhance our products.
Richard has an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business where he focused on financial engineering. Early in his career, Richard played various roles in health-related research programs and management in the education field.
